Hank: We played baseball today in gymnastics.
Me: Like with a bat and a ball (gesturing throwing a baseball and taking a swing). Take me out to the ball game, baseball?
Hank: Um… No.
Monica: Describe what you played today.
Hank: You have two julgadors (referees) and a ball and bases and then one of them rolls the ball to you and you need to kick…
Me: That’s kickball.
Monica: Hank, that is kickball.
Hank: No, but you kick the ball and then run to the bases to score a point you don’t take the ball with you. You take the ball with you in kickball.
Me: (shaking my head no) That’s American football when you catch a ball that was kicked or thrown and take it with you to score points.
Monica: And in kickball you can only take three steps before you get a foul. I am really good at baseball. I always get the ball in the hoop.
Me: (exasperated) Monica, that is basketball.
Hank: Then what is baseball?
Me: (tossing my hands in the air in surrender) Europeans!
